Soy milk from home producers poses risk

[06/07/2008 - __[[GIPA PROJECT]]__]
Customers at a street stall drink no brand soy milk. It is a popular staple which may contain some nasty surprises. The soy milk you buy for breakfast from your favorite pushcart may not be the healthy start to the day you expect.

It’s cheap, protein rich, vitamin packed and is a popular beverage of Vietnamese people.
Many elderly, office workers and children stop by pushcarts or street stalls to have a glass of soy milk every morning.

Unbranded soy milk, however, hasn’t been tested in accordance with food hygiene and safety practices and may pose a health risk including food poisoning, according to local health experts.
